Outward Bound Trust

Commissioned to explore the transformative power of challenge and adventure, this project captures the essence of the experiences offered by the Outward Bound Trust. It is a celebration of growth, resilience, and self-discovery, showing how stepping into the unknown can reveal strengths beyond expectation.

Outward Bound takes learners into wild, unfamiliar environments, climbing, trekking, navigating, and collaborating in ways that demand presence, courage, and trust. These experiences are designed to strip away comfort and routine, creating space for reflection and insight. Confidence, leadership, teamwork, and emotional resilience emerge not as abstract ideals, but as lived, embodied skills.

For many young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, these courses are often their first experience in the great outdoors. The Trust’s mission is to help young people discover what they are capable of, providing over 80% of participants with bursary support to ensure the courses are accessible and inclusive.
